The photo club came up with a challenge for February 2020 and it proved to be a challenge. I enjoyed it and learned a couple of things doing it.
One thing I learned was that I didn’t know my flash all that well. Another is that I have to work harder at making sure my focus is right.
The challenge was to photograph liquids mixing, or a “Liquid Storm” as it was termed.
I bought two neon colours to work with and some small bottles to put the paint into. I added water and shook it till it was mixed. I also bought a ten gallon aquarium to use as the container.
I had a few frustrating moments doing it, like when I realized the images were not sharp/focused. Once I had a really great colour bloom happening and my remote wouldn’t trigger the camera! Batteries died in the remote.
I realy liked the results and had a hard time picking the “final” image for the challenge. Here are some for you to see and the rest are in my flickr share here https://www.flickr.com/photos/kwgagel
